How a set is put together
Press New set and five comparisons are assembled on the spot from the same measured pool the daily game uses. Five target objects are picked without repeats, and each one is paired with a reference it has genuinely been shown against before, so the two shapes stay within a sane ratio of each other rather than being thrown together at random. If no recorded partner exists, the fallback still refuses any pair more than forty times apart in real size. Nothing about the scoring changes: 100 points a round, 500 for a clean set.
What it is good for
Practice, mostly. Five rounds a day is thin repetition, and the scoring curve punishes a specific kind of error rather than a general one. Anything under about six percent off pays the full 100, so the tight rounds are effectively free; past sixty percent off the curve falls away quickly, and beyond a factor of about two and a half the round pays nothing at all. That means a single blown estimate costs more than five mediocre ones, and the blown ones cluster around unfamiliar shapes: a 27 m blue whale judged on length, a 269 m hull, a 330 m tower. Running sets back to back is the quickest way to find out which of those your eye gets wrong.
Results here are deliberately kept out of your daily record. Streaks, averages and the score spread on the statistics page only count the dated sets, so no amount of practice inflates them. When you want one that counts, today's set is waiting, with Pop Culture and Geography running their own five, and the archive holding every date already published.
