Why this one is hard to judge by eye
Nothing this size arrives at the eye whole: Angel Falls reaches you as a small angle from wherever you can stand back far enough to see it, and the brain fills the rest in from what it expects, which is how 871 m of difference goes unnoticed. At 9.06 times, Angel Falls against Victoria Falls sits past the factor of about five where estimates stop tracking the real ratio and settle into a vague much bigger.
