Why this one is hard to judge by eye
A blue whale is drawn about 3.70 times as wide as a killer whale as well as 3.70 times its length, so the area it takes in the frame grows faster than the figure anyone quotes. A blue whale sits in the range with no handy yardstick: too big to hold against anything you have carried, too small to need a horizon, so it and a killer whale end up filed under the same vague heading of very large. On the drawing above a blue whale is about 5.71 times as wide as it is tall and a killer whale about 2.65 times as wide as it is tall, so the two outlines fill the frame in ways that have nothing to do with the one axis being compared.
What each figure covers
Blue Whale. Blue whales are measured along the body, snout to tail notch. Published maxima run past 30 m for the largest females recorded, so any single figure is a mid-range choice rather than a ceiling.
Killer Whale. Killer whales are measured snout to tail notch. Males run a couple of metres longer than females, and the dorsal fin, which is what everyone pictures, is not part of the figure.
