What is 1.5 metres tall?

Ten objects in the Size It Up measurement set stand between 1.3 m (4.27 ft) and 1.77 m (5.81 ft), Gorilla the shortest and C-3PO the tallest. That is 1.5 m (4.92 ft) give or take a fifth, and Crash Bandicoot is recorded at that figure itself, with four others inside a tenth of it. Every number here is a height, which is the only reason Gorilla and C-3PO can be put in the same row: the drawing below holds them to one scale and one height.

Every height in the table falls between 1.3 m and 1.77 m, Gorilla through to C-3PO, and all 10 come from the Size It Up measurement set, one real size and one measured axis per object, last checked in September 2026; where each outline comes from is listed on the sources page.

Where each one falls against 1.5 m

At 1.3 m (4.27 ft), Gorilla is 13% below it. Gimli and Lord Farquaad are all recorded at 1.37 m (4.49 ft), 8.7% under the mark. Crash Bandicoot and Gengar are all recorded at 1.5 m (4.92 ft), the mark itself.

Blastoise runs 6.7% over at 1.6 m (5.25 ft). At 1.7 m (5.58 ft), Charizard stands 13% above it. Human runs 14% over at 1.71 m (5.61 ft). No outline on the page is narrower than Human: 59.9 cm of width for 1.71 m of height, a ratio of 2.9 to one.

At 1.75 m (5.74 ft), American Bison stands 17% above it. No outline on the page spreads wider than American Bison: 2.95 m across for 1.75 m of height. C-3PO runs 18% over at 1.77 m (5.81 ft).

The gaps inside the band

End to end the page runs from Gorilla at 1.3 m (4.27 ft) to C-3PO at 1.77 m (5.81 ft), a spread of 36%. Ten objects carry eight distinct figures between them, so some outlines stand exactly level on the drawing: Gimli and Lord Farquaad at 1.37 m, and one other set of matching figures beside them. The widest step inside the band is between Lord Farquaad and Crash Bandicoot, 9.5% apart, and every other neighbour is closer than that.

Charizard, Human and American Bison are the tightest three, held inside 2.9% of each other, which is well below what anyone judges by eye. Three of the ten sit under 1.5 m and seven above it, which is where the dashed marker crosses the drawing.

Why they do not look the same size

The drawing above puts all ten outlines on one scale, standing on one ground line, so the only thing separating Gorilla from C-3PO is the measurement itself. American Bison is 4.92 times as wide as Human on that drawing, 2.95 m against 59.9 cm, while the figures that put them both on this page are 2.3% apart. That is the whole difficulty with judging size by eye: what fills the frame is the outline of American Bison, and what puts it on this page is one height of 1.75 m. American Bison and Human are held to the same scale all the same, the way a drawing has to be built before two sizes can be read off it at once.

What each figure covers

The figure for Gorilla is the one for average male, 1.3 m (4.27 ft). The figure for Human is the one for average male, 1.71 m (5.61 ft). The figure for American Bison is the one for average adult male, shoulder height, 1.75 m (5.74 ft).

American Bison is measured to a point on the body rather than to the top of it, which is the convention for that kind of animal and not a rounding of anything. Three of them are characters rather than objects, Gimli, Lord Farquaad and C-3PO, and a character has no tape measure behind it: the figure comes from what the story fixes, not from anyone standing next to it. Crash Bandicoot, Gengar, Blastoise and Charizard carry no qualifier in the set, so their figure is the plain one, with nothing narrowed down.

Every figure above is a height, Gorilla and C-3PO included, and the axis is the first thing to check before two sizes are worth putting side by side.

How often they come up in the game

Between them these ten objects have come up 66 times in the daily game, and Human accounts for 33 of those on its own. Two of them have been drawn no more than twice in all: Lord Farquaad and Gimli. The game has already drawn three of these pairs against each other: Crash Bandicoot against Charizard (1 time), Crash Bandicoot against Human (1 time) and Blastoise against Charizard (1 time), which is as close to a tie as a round of this game gets.
